Derby Day Dance, May 2

J

To kick its 25thWalk Season, the Village Walk for Cancer Research invites you to a very special fundraiser. On Saturday May 2 (yes, Kentucky Derby Day), join us at 5:00 in the Coronado Center for our first ever Derby Dance. For your $35 ticket you will be treated to the danceable music of the Village Big Band, a lavish assortment of hors d’oeuvres and snacks, and several other opportunities to help the team reach its 2026 goal of raising $110,000, all of which is donated to cancer research and other related projects here in Arkansas.

Several TVs will be tuned to the Derby. You will have an opportunity to “place your bets’ (chances) on the horse or horses of your choice, and also to win one of several enticing gift baskets. The music will pause as the race begins and a lucky winner will be drawn from the chances going to the winning horse – a Derby Day variation of a 50/50 drawing.

Derby Day dress is optional. There will be an award for the most “interesting” Derby Day outfit.

The cash bar will offer a selection of specialty drinks with a Derby theme, or any other drink of your choice.

Bring your friends or make new ones in the ballroom of the Coronado Center and enjoy an evening of derby watching, dancing and casual dining.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.hsvticketsales.com or at the Ponce de Leon Center during business hours. Click on the link below to be directed to hsvticketsales.
